this project is a planter and it is glazed in a black and white theme. it has a smooth texture and is 3 inches wide from the lip but on the bottom is 5 inches wide by 4 1/2 inches tall. i glazed the top in black and left the inside untouched until i dumped the white glaze on the inside. when the white was on the inside is went through the holes in the side of the planter and filled the rest of the project. the skill i learned was that i need to ass more glaze to the more runny glazes to make it more thick and so it comes out with a better glaze over top of it. color is used to create the boundaries around the black and white so they do not touch or seem like they are. unity is seen in this project by the sole purpose that, the black and white are two polar opposite colors from each other and go well together. what the project says about me is that i can do better, it shows others that there is always room for improvement.

i created a large bowl and is is 7 inches wide and 5 inches tall. is is glazed in a dark blue that is still unnamed and a forest green, with a smooth surface and bubbly texture on the inside. i glazed the dark blue side first and then the other side in the forest green, i dipped the forest green further in to get the mix of colors on the inside of the project. the new skill i learned was when the project came out of the kiln, there was glaze that ran down to the bottom side of it, so i learned how to glaze in a much easier way buy making it look more clean and like it was never even there. line was used because there is a line that reaches through this entire project and it leads all the way around. unity was used in this project to see how the two different shades of green correspond to the dark blue and compliment it. The meaning of this project is that it shows my audience i am capable of more than just throwing a project, the other half to this class is the glaze and it is great.
this project that i made is a large bowl, it is 3 1/2 inches tall and 8 inches wide. It has a smooth surface and is glazed in a dark blue which has no name yet and a forest green, half and half. when the two colors met in the middle the combined and created a faint green color. The new skill i learned was glazing the perfect amount and thickness on the project, and seeing them come together very well. value is seen through the glazes how the dark blue and the light green contrast with each other very well. harmony is used in the project with the elegant change from the green to blue. the importance of this project is that i am making progress in this class with my glazing ability. I see it improve every time i glaze and this is a prime example of that.
I created a handle project, it stands 3 inches tall and 3 inches wide. it is a green all around with some blue highlights that compliment its smooth texture. i glazed it half blue, half green, the green took over and the blue didn't stand out very much. when i finished that, i grazed it in clear to give it, its shine. the skill i learned is that, when glazing it the way i did, i can only put on so much of each color or else it may turn out the way it does with mine. value is used in the project the way the inside of the cup is a green universe. balance it used to create the colors that highlight each other and pop when they are seen. this project says about me that, i am capable of doing better, but we all start from somewhere and this is my stating place.
I created a bowl, it stands 3 inches tall by 4 inches wide. The glazes have all mixed together, it has turned out to be a collaboration of blue, green and black. i glazed the whole project in one color and sprayed it with another glaze to get this affect. The skill i leaned from the project is how to use the perfect amount of glaze. There are no patchy spots coating around the bowl, and this makes the piece fall together. value was used in this project, the inside of the bowl is a totally different experience than the outside. movement can be seen as soon as your eyes flow over the top of the bowl, they get directed toward the center of the bowl. the meaning of this project is that you must look at the entire picture, if you are only seeing things from the outside; you must know that there is more on the inside.
I created a coil project with the help of my team, it stands 4 inches tall by 5 inches wide. It is a pure green project with smooth texture around the entire item. I leaned how to cut holes in my project and make letters. Form was used to create the 3D lettering in and around the project, they jump out. Rhythm was used in a way to continue the pattern of lettering i carved and molded onto the project. The importance of this project was dedicated toward a staff member that works in the office. she is a favorite among many students and i wanted to make her a special project. all the lettering on the coil is actually all of her family initials making this a family gift.
I created a bowl, it stands 3 inches tall by 5 inches wide. It is a brown and green mixed together to create a earth like feeling, it also has some rough and smooth texture. i leaned that by using a thick glaze i can create the rough affect on the sides. Texture was used because you can actual see the underneath coat on the project. Emphasis was used because it focuses on the project using the texture and colors to see how they all form together. This project describes me in the way that not everything is perfect on the outside but i make it work.
I created a cylinder, it stands 4 inches tall by 2 inches wide. It is a blue and green mixed together to created a dripping affect, in which the project is smooth. I leaned how to glaze with two colors and have them intermix with each other. Line was used to draw the eye around the project with the glaze. Balance, and movement are used to create an effect, this is important to me because i love when things are pleasing to the eye. When things flow it benefits those of us that love when things just flow.
